Home for Good: Bracknell Forest is part of the national Home for Good network of local movements. Local Christians with a passion for looked after children first started talking to the council in 2013 about how the church could help in finding homes. Those early conversations led to the start of this local movement, managed by Kerith Community Church.

We work with the Bracknell Forest Family Placement Team where there’s a need for foster carers, particularly for children aged 10 and over. We also work with PACT Voluntary Adoption Agency for those potential adopters looking to adopt children who have been waiting the longest.

Penny Lander co-ordinates the local movement. She and Alan have two teenage daughters, both adopted as babies from China, and for many years they have had a passion to help others foster and adopt. They have spoken at adoption workshops and have wide leadership experience at Kerith Community Church.
Heather Spaan is a local Champion for the Home for Good movement. She has a background in Children’s Social Work and therapeutic intervention with vulnerable children. She has a specialised interest in Attachment and has provided training and direct support to foster carers who work with children with attachment difficulties.
