Home for Good's Christmas Appeal 2020

As we approach Christmas, we wanted to wish you and your family a very Happy Christmas!

This Christmas there will be around 100,000 children in the UK who are classified as looked after away from home. As you may have heard us share before, the pressures of Covid have meant that even more children have come into care this year, adding to the need for more foster and adoptive families right across the country.

We are working tirelessly to respond and have seen families step forward to open their home to a vulnerable child. Many children have been adopted or welcomed into a foster family and will be spending their first Christmas together this year. How wonderful is that! We are so grateful to all those who have supported our work this year and have helped make this happen.

Sadly, for thousands of children Christmas is not a time of joy. We want to change this, we need to find more safe and loving homes in 2021 to welcome vulnerable children, and so we need to ask for your help.

For many of us Christmas services will be different this year, so we have made resources that can be used virtually as well as in church. Our Christmas resources are based around a poem written and performed by Krish Kandiah, it’s a remake of the well-known ‘Twas the night before Christmas’ poem and focusses on ‘welcoming the stranger’. We really hope these resources will bless and encourage the Church as we consider the meaning of the Christmas story this year. We have produced:

1. Film (suitable for all ages)

2. Children's activity

3, Creative prayer idea

4. Ideas around ways to ‘welcome’ and suggested songs

5. Congregational prayer

All resources are available to download, simply complete the form below to access them.
