Home for Good invites you to join us for our seventh annual Summit, gathering Christians who are passionate about caring for vulnerable children for a day of encouragement and equipping.

After such a long time of distance and separation, we are hopeful that Summit 2022 will be a time to come Together. Drawing inspiration from 1 Corinthians 12, we will stand together as one body with many parts, taking the time to honour and uphold those who can sometimes be overlooked. This is a great opportunity to connect with others involved in fostering and adoption, and it is a chance to bring along friends, family and leaders within the Church and community who want to learn how to better support those welcoming vulnerable children into their homes.

As always, the day will include a great mix of teaching, worship and prayer for adults and a full programme of activities for children ages 3-18, as well as a creche area for children under three, where parents and carers can supervise their children and still engage with the wider programme. We are thrilled to once again be able to offer free places for children and young people.

From this year, our Summit will also be streamed online so you will be able to join us digitally if you cannot join us in person. We will be planning our Summit with close attention to any applicable Government guidance and with contingency plans in place should they be needed, but we are also hopeful that gathering together will be possible once more!

Has the date changed?

The Summit was originally due to take place in November 2021 but after careful consideration, we decided to reschedule it until May 2022. We still don’t know exactly what the autumn and winter months are going to look like and we understand the nervousness that the thought of in-person events can create.

For many of us, the Summit is a source of energy, joy and inspiration. We want to meet at a time that allows for all of this and more, providing a powerful time to connect richly together, support our amazing network of fosterers and adopters, share the Home for Good vision and inspire others to provide a home for vulnerable children. We’re committed to doing this at the right time for all involved.

Tell me more about the plans for children and young people…

Children and young people are a central part of our Summit and we want to ensure they have a fantastic day, whether your family joins us in person or online.

Milton Keynes

We are delighted to have a wonderful team from Youth for Christ running the children’s and youth programme again this year, providing groups for children aged 3 to 18.

Youth: Year 7-12

Children: Year 3-6

Year 1-2

Preschool & Reception

We recognise that your children may require additional support or may feel more comfortable accessing a slightly younger age group. We will be working closely with YFC to ensure that every child has a great day, so please share any specific requirements or details that will help us best meet their needs.

Under 3’s will remain with parents and carers. There will be toys and activities set up in the main auditorium and a separate creche space will also be available where we will be streaming from the main auditorium so that you don’t miss anything.

Digital access

The team at YFC have helped us build a fantastic online programme for children and young people, including short teaching and story videos, crafts and fun activities. Those who register for digital access to the Summit will be able to request activity packs for the children in their home, which can either be posted or emailed to you.

When you make your Summit booking you can request which packs you need for each of your children based on their age. Please select the age bracket that you feel would best suit your child’s developmental age so they get the best out of their pack.

Tell me more about digital access

On Saturday 7 May we will be live streaming the two main Summit sessions, broadcasting at approximately 10-11:30am and 3:15-4:30pm, and the Champions' Commissioning at approximately 1:15-1:45pm*. Your access will enable you to watch these live or catch up at a later time.

We will not be live streaming the seminars due to the nature of their delivery, and so that people joining us from home can have some screen-free time! Instead, we’ll be offering our seminar series as evening webinars the week following the Summit. You will be able to join these live or catch up at a later time.

* Exact times to be confirmed.

Tell me more about lunch

If you’re joining us in Milton Keynes you can choose to add lunch for adults and children to your booking. Please indicate any dietary requirements on your booking to ensure we cater for you.

We will only provide lunch if it has been booked in advance. Alternatively you are welcome to bring your own lunch with you.

Please note: We recommend you either book lunch in advance or bring it with you, as there are no shops or food outlets local to the venue.

It sounds great, but is it for me?

YES! The Summit is for everyone. We welcome foster carers and adoptive parents and anyone considering whether they could care for a vulnerable child. Grandparents, friends and extended family. Church leaders, children’s or youth workers – everyone who is part of the Church. If you are passionate about vulnerable children experiencing the welcome, love and acceptance they deserve, the Summit is for you!

We hope you can join us – in Milton Keynes or online.
