We recommend St. Francis’ Children’s Society because:

  • They offer exceptional training and parenting preparation through group sessions, workshops and one-to-one home-study sessions.

  • They provide extensive adoption support services to you and your family before, during and after the adoption takes place.
  • They are committed to finding families for the children who wait longest in care, including sibling groups, children aged over four, children from black and minority ethnic backgrounds, and children with physical disabilities or additional special needs.
  • They welcome all kinds of adopters for all kinds of children, regardless of age, race, cultural background, religion, marital status or sexual orientation.

"We had a great relationship with out SFCS social worker. The home visits, when your social worker spends time with you discussing all aspects of your life and your suitability to become adoptive parents, can be challenging at times. But our social worker was extremely supportive, and the preparation classes, follow-on training sessions and support services provided by SFCS were invaluable.”

“St Francis has taken our need for post adoption support very seriously and been proactive in helping us on the journey to receiving what we need. On the way they have provided access to a family therapist, funded 3 surgery appointments with them in a year and done life story work with our son once a week over at least 6 months. The recent conference was a real boost in refreshing us in our role of being adoptive parents, which does have very specific differences due to the traumatic pasts of our children.”
