Father's Day

Father’s Day is a great opportunity to celebrate that as Christians we can call God our Heavenly Father. It’s a chance for us to reflect on the family of God, as well as to thank those who fulfil fathering roles in our lives.

However, amidst the thanksgiving traditionally associated with Father’s Day, we want to acknowledge that in our church congregations there will be a mix of feelings. There will be those who don’t have a good relationship with their father, or who had an absent father. There will be people who miss their dad, and fathers who aren’t able to care for or who share the care of children. There will be men who aren’t yet dads but who have important and influential roles in the lives of children.

For Father's Day 2018, Home for Good has partnered with Christian Vision for Men (CVM) to say 'Not on my watch'. We believe that God is calling the Church to respond to the needs of vulnerable children across our nation, and on this particular day, we are inviting men to step up and speak up on their behalf.

As a church, will you join with us by using our resources on Sunday 17 June to mark Father's Day together and be part of our campaign?

We have compiled resources that we hope will help churches mark Father’s Day in an engaging, inclusive and sensitive way.
