Adopt

Could you offer a vulnerable child a home for good?

There are thousands of children currently waiting for adoption in the UK. Each one has experienced trauma and loss, and many have suffered neglect or abuse, and they all need a stable, loving and committed family to care for them.

There are currently almost three times as many children on the Adoption Register in England as there are families

Adoption is the opportunity to give each child a loving family to belong to for the rest of their lives, who will commit to them, nurture them and advocate for them, and give them a safe and settled home for good.

The loss and trauma that every care experienced child and young person has suffered will understandably have an effect on each one. Some may struggle with trust, confidence or building appropriate relationships. Some may have health issues, developmental delays or additional needs. Some may not be able to cope with challenges and big emotions, and this will outwork in their behaviour. It will look different for every child.

Adoptive families are needed for children of all ages and both genders, but there is often a particular need for families who are able to adopt groups of siblings, children with disabilities or complex needs, children of black and minority ethnic heritage, and children over the age of four.
