Support groups

We recognise how valuable peer support can be for carers and adoptive parents and we know that peer-to-peer support groups connect people who encourage and support each other in amazing ways. Home for Good does not run support groups but we seek to inspire people to start them and want to equip and resource those who do.

If you are seeking a support group, find out if there are any running in your area.

A growing number of peer-to-peer support groups are connecting with us and we want to do more to resource them and bless them for the incredible support that they are.

If you connect your peer to peer support group to Home for Good, here’s what we will do for you:

  • Provide you with a logo that can be used for groups and events that connect with Home for Good
  • Profile your support group on our website
  • Signpost people to your group
  • Link you with other peer-to-peer support groups across the UK
  • Help you evaluate the impact your group is having with short annual surveys
  • Send you details of Home for Good resources as they become available
  • Where possible, a member of the Home for Good team will visit your group annually

As the peer-to-peer support group facilitator we ask that you will:

  • Ensure your group’s details on the Home for Good website are always up-to-date
  • Commit to responding to anyone we signpost to you within one week
  • Where appropriate, promote Home for Good events
  • Let us know each term how your support group is going

If you are interested in setting up a group or connecting your existing group to Home for Good, please contact our Support Co-ordinator or fill in the form below.
